The a Piedi team represents the third generation of a family run business dedicated to specialising in leather goods and tannery, that include the design and production of high quality tailored garments and ladies footwear for leading European brands.

Despite a banking career in the city, Mariam launched a Piedi having taken a career break to have her three children. After initially coming up with the idea for developing a specialist footwear retailer, Mariam has spent the last year designing, creating, developing and perfecting a Piedi (meaning “on foot”), a one-stop for luxury yet affordable flat footwear.

Having launched the e-tailer in June 2009 and during the economic down-turn, Mariam wanted to bring to the market an affordable range of flat footwear without compromising on the level of craftsmanship and materials used. The focus on the designs are classic with a contemporary twist and all sandals are constructed fully in the finest leathers: uppers, lining, insoles and soles, while embellishment, other fine fabrics and colour also play an important role in the design ethos.
